We provide full dentures where all of the natural teeth are missing and part dentures where some of the natural teeth are still present. Full dentures are usually made from a strong plastic material but can be made with a metal base where required. Part dentures are made with either a plastic or metal base and we can advise you of which type is most suitable for you and the various pros and cons of each particular design. Finally we can also provide a flexible denture system called Valplast which can be useful in certain circumstances and can be designed to incorporate gum colured clasps to help hold the denture in place. These type of denture can also be useful if you have missing teeth on just one side of the mouth and don’t wish for a bridge or dental implants. Another advantage of a Valplast part denture in the example just explained is that there is no need to cover the whole of the roof of the mouth as a conventional denture would often do.
